OUR STORY…

OUR STORY…

Reflection Ministries was established in 2016 as a non-profit with the desire to empower individuals who have been coerced into a life of commercial labor, sexual exploitation, and human trafficking. Our commitment has been to foster holistic healing with a rehabilitative approach to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of victims.

The Reflection Team has traveled extensively throughout Texas and the United States, building relationships with organizations, forming bonds with agencies providing restorative care programs, and learning from them. Additionally, we have attended numerous training conferences to better equip ourselves as we engage daily with victims who are escaping a horrific life of sex trafficking.

Lisa was challenged by her husband, Wesley, to not build a non-profit with “duct tape & bailing wire”, but to build one with intentionality and a forward-thinking mindset. Taking on this challenge, Lisa began the building blocks that now encompass programs that range from crisis stabilization through aftercare - programs that reflect her heart of long-term restorative care for survivors. Every program that we offer has been intentionally designed to be survivor centered.

The objective of Reflection Ministries has always been to invest and walk the journey of healing, wholeness, and wellness with survivors. We meet their immediate needs through crisis intervention and medical, behavioral, and substance assessments, followed by second-stage homes that are safe and secure, with aftercare programs up to four years. Victims have experienced so much uncertainty, change, movement, abandonment, and violence in their daily lives. Our approach continues to be thoughtful as we provide avenues of restoration for survivors to assist them as they strive for self-sufficiency and independence, which results in finding true freedom.
